Crazy, Stupid, Love. (2011)
Directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa
First of all i will say that although Steve Carell (Anchorman, Date Night) is the star of the film its not laugh a minute stuff. However the film works superbly well as comedic drama and theres no doubting that the cast are excellent especially man of the moment Ryan Gosling (Blue Valentine, Drive) and the underused but excellent Emma Stone (Zombieland, Easy A). Where the film really excells is in the clever twists that family film supremo Dan Fogelman (Cars, Tangled) and one particular of these major twists makes you want to watch the film again just to see how it was done. Infact the scene where this is revealed is probably the best in the entire movie and bring the laughs you'd normally expect from Carell. At first it seems like theres too many stories taking place in the film but as it goes on it becomes easier to get to grips with the different plots. Overall although not hilarious still a very good film and will do nothing to harm the careers of those involved.7 out of 10
