Review: Dorian Gray
Dorian Gray (2009)
Director Oliver Parker
So i didn't know too much about this film before i watched it and after watching the film i can see why :/ It says something for the quality of the film when Colin Firth (Love Actually, The King's Speech) is in it and it still didnt get much coverage. The only previous knowledge of the character i had was from his role in The League of Extroadonary Gentlemen. Ben Barnes (Stardust, The Cronicles of Narnia Series) is quite forgettable as the leading man, capturing neither the likeable or unlikable aspects of the character. The plot seems to go nowhere as well and is very poor at letting the audience know what is happening or why. There no or little explanation for how Mr Gray and his portrait became soo close. To be honest theres no explantion for anything that happens in the film and even Colin Firth manages to be unmemerable, and thats saying something!!2 out 10
